Ladies—do you sometimes find yourself catching a glimpse or even picking up a magazine in the store? You know those pricey magazines filled with worldly ideals and views? You know that magazine where you flip through the pages, and can’t help but to look at the women being presented before your eyes?
These women always seem to capture perfection! They have the perfect body, perfect facial features, and perfect hair! As you look through the pages, you ever have this thought of “I wish I had that body?” With this kind of body maybe things will change? Maybe people will notice me? Maybe guys will notice me?
WAKE UP GIRL!! These women in those magazine aren’t what real women look like. Obviously photoshopped. Don’t fix your eyes on what’s in the magazines or the billboards.
Society wants you to think that this is what body confidence is and that isn’t the truth—I used to stare at pictures of women on Instagram, wishing I had that body! If I had that body, I would feel so much better about myself.
When I was younger I would watch the women in the rap videos. I wanted to dance like them and dress like them. But it took me a while to understand that confidence comes from within yourself. It starts with you. Once you see your worth —and how Gods sees you, no one can have that power over you! Our bodies are our temple!
In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. Our bodies are not even our own.
God created us so we could glorify His name. We have to treat our bodies right. Our bodies are here to please God and nobody else! So lets have confidence in ourselves. Eat well, exercise regularly and make sure we dress ourselves with dignity. Remember confidence starts in the heart. Are You confident in yourself?
